Carnival

My days of carnivals were nice, I love this time of the year because you can do partyhard five days and no one will recriminate your actions, almost I like the fact that many concerts are realise those days. This year I don't  went to any palco, what I did was spend time with my family and friends in different types of programs. First day, a group of friends and I went to an apartment and saw the sun rice up -that was my favourite carnival moment-. Second day, I went to de Festival de la Cerveza to see Arcangel and others vallenato artists. Third day, some of my friends and I waned to be in Cartagena so after lunch we took the road. We have fun and saw my family in Cartagena  until Tuesday that we returned to see Muerte de Joselito parade. This carnival were pretty amazing, I'm hopping the ones that are coming next years will be equal or better than this one -Will see what future hold!-

Barranquilla as Cultural Capital 2013

As all we know Barranquilla is one of the most beautiful cities of Colombia, replete of great people with an amazing cultural diversity, which is shown every year in its carnival. Because of this last year Barranquilla won the privilege of been American Cultural Capital 2013, putting itself upon cities so important as Rio de Janeiro or Medellin. This recognizing will bring Barranquilla a new window throw the world, promoting it on Antena channel and Discovery Networks. This is great news to the economy, because this will promote tourism to this beautiful city that is making its way to the world and want to show itself as a big city in pursuit of developing of culture and integrity of its people.

What music can do - Tureng

Music is an important way of transmission, whit this we can express felling, thoughts, experiences and almost anything we can imagine. But in my case I'll never imagine that it could be possible perceive a culture only with some conjunction of word and sounds, but this video made me change my mind. It was possible with the help of a translation system and a lot of attention. The culture I'm talking about is the Tuareng. With the beautiful sound of a guitar and a delectable voice pronouncing word perfectly joined by the group Tinariwen,  I learn a little bit of what is the Tureng culture all about. I hinted that this culture has a free spirit way of living, enjoy little aspects like preparing tea and be next to the bonfire, this people are peaceful and clean.

Arab Spring-Egypt

Egypt is one of the most powerful countries in the Arab economy. But since the revolution in 2011, with the overthrown of Husting Mubarak "Egypt is not even a shadow of what it was a few years ago".To understand this we need to go back in time and know which were Egyptians life before Mubarak regimen.
According to the New York Times in Mubarak’s regime life was getting harder for the masses as the rich grew richer and the poor grew poorer.  Also this government was catalog as corrupt and dictatorial. All this problems grew up when Mr. Mubarak political machine won the parliamentary vote.
That was the cup that broke the camel, people were tired of the abuse and bad government, Egyptians speak his voice up and claim justice. Young people were one of the main promoters of the overthrown of Mubarak. This was possible with the use of social networks -as twitter, facebook, blogs- that showed the world the truth and the problems they were suffering.
After intense fighting and apprehension of Mr. Mubarak, in May of 2012 the first elections. Mohamed Morsi emerged victorious in this.
But the reality is the situation of Egypt has not changed much.  Civil war is continuous, confrontations  between Mubarak's allies and opponents are the daily bread, increasing the number of deaths and the number of homeless families. Poverty has increased, causing more desnutrition on children.
The reason for the increase of this problems is very simple, all capital is used for war. In my opinion the reality of Egypt is very similar to Colombia. We as a country have to think in ways to spend less on war and make more social investment projects. So the history of the Middle Eastern countries stop.
